Community-Led Design & Consulting

Founders Club
Starting a community-based organization or project can be tough! It's hard to even know where to start.
"Should I incorporate or file as a 501(c)3?"
"What's the best way to choose a Board?"
"How do I navigate the world of funders and grant-writing?"
"Help! late-stage capitalism feels like a nightmare from which we can't wake up and I am filled with existential dread. I cannot shake the feeling that, just outside---the bells which herald the arrival of a deeper, darker, dumpster-fire hellscape not yet even imagined in the formless ether--- clang and clang ever louder, the black-red-ember of chaos which paints a faint glow against the horizon grows ever larger, ever closer-- Is it even possible to balance family & community AND create something successful without compromising any of my values?"

....And, "Where's the best place to get office supplies in bulk?"

These are all questions we as Founders have either
1) had to answer in the past,
2) will have to answer in the future, or
3) are in the process of figuring out.

We don't have to do any of this alone. Founders Club is a space where we can share our expertise, resources, and experiences to grow our organizations and ourselves.

Community
A collective of individuals dedicated to their work. People to network with, bounce ideas off of, share learnings & resources, celebrate wins, and generally commiserate over cheap coffee.
Tools & Training
Topics include but are not limited to: Incorporation, choosing the right type of entity for your org, survey and focus group design, story-telling and presentations, frameworks for communal justice and healing, community vs. self-care, and so much more!
Leadership Opportunities
This is a collaborative model! Founders have the opportunity to plan and host events, voice their opinions on matters relating to the club, represent FCN with external partners, as well as run for leadership positions on the planning committee.
Events
The foundation of this collective is the exchange of knowledge! Founders Club fosters this through meet-ups and events all year long.
Management Assistance
It's easy to pick up momentum when you're first beginning and funders love something new and flashy. But often, the most crucial work happens at that next stage---the messy 'in-between' phase. Funding can dwindle as your org is not quite new enough to grab attention but not quite established enough to feel like a safe 'investment.' Or, maybe you've secured funding, worked out all the kinks, and are looking to expand or better manage your staff.
Management Assistance office hours are free for participating members.
1:1 consulting is available on a sliding-scale basis.
Examples for topics: business model, operations, managing revenue streams, fundraising, stakeholder mapping, etc.
